Can I donate books or photographs or other materials to Special Collections?

UMBC actively collects rare books, photographs, and archival materials that will enhance our holdings. We ask that offers of donation be submitted through the Donation Request Form.
Potential donations will be reviewed by the Curator of Special Collections to assess whether the materials are a good fit for our collections and you will be contacted as soon as possible about the decision. Please review our Collecting Guidelines for more information about the types of materials we collect.
We ask that you do not send materials to UMBC Special Collections unless agreed upon by staff. The library reserves the right to discard unsolicited donations and to decline gift offers prior to donation.
