The links to access an article from the library’s website aren’t working for me. What should I do?

Sign Into Your UMBC Account

Make sure you are logged into your account on the library’s website through single sign-on. This ensures that you can access all of our materials that are freely available for UMBC faculty, students, and staff.

Contact Us

If you have signed into your UMBC account but the link still isn't working, let us know either through Ask a Librarian chat or email. We'll look into any access issues and follow up with you.

Request through Illiad/Interlibrary Loan

If it's determined that the Library no longer as access to the article, you can request a pdf version of the article through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). If you haven’t done so already, you'll be prompted to register your ILL account before you put through a request. ILL is a no-cost option available to all current UMBC faculty, staff, and students.

Once you’ve opened your ILL account, you can now submit ILL requests for books and articles. You can do this through the Submit Request option in your ILL account, or you can put your request through AOK OneSearch or another of our databases using the Illiad Article Request option that appears when you are signed in.

You will receive an email notification once a pdf version of the article is available in your ILL account.
