Do PDFs provided on reserve meet Title II Accessibility requirements?

Answer

Yes, to the best of our ability. If you notice any PDFs on your course that need further remediation, please let us know which ones by filling out this form.

While you are welcome to upload your own PDFs to reserves, we will change the PDF to a library database link as long as a link is available. Links tend to be more accessible than PDFs and allow for greater accessibility.

We strongly encourage all instructors to consider accessibility when choosing course materials. For example:

  • Are there digital versions available for your requested materials so students can access the content in their preferred modality?
  • Are the digital documents you are reserving accessible?
  • If you’re using an ebook, how many users are allowed to simultaneously access it?
